CAST

Tom Haushalter - (Richard Hannay), a lifelong student of the dramatic arts, would love to say he cut his teeth on schoolyard interpretations of Ibsen, Chekhov, and Wilde; that by the tender age of seven, he could recite from rote the complete works of Shaw; that by 12, he became the youngest actor to play the title role in Tartuffe at London’s historic Aldwych Theatre. His biographers continue to work tirelessly alongside Oxford researchers to verify these and other claims. More recently, however, you may have seen Tom as Black Stache in Peter and the Starcatcher at Portland Players. He is as delighted as you are to find him back on stage in this inaugural production by Out There Theater Company, to whom he plans to fulfill his contractual obligations before juggling any and all new offers.

Genevieve Breitbach - (3rd Swing - Pamela/Annabella/Margaret) is wigging out over this incredibly special opportunity to be a part of the very first Out There Theater Company production! An ol' broad of the boards, you may have recently spied her as: Smee in Peter and the Starcatcher at Portland Players (alongside the incomparable Tom Haushalter), Elsa Schrader in The Sound of Music at Lyric Music Theater, a bun loving nun in Our Daily Dread with PortFringe ’23, or in various roles for the Maine Playwrights Festival. It's been said she's licensed to thrill with a BFA in Acting from Millikin University (though her success rate is subjective). Her gratitude and adoration for this production team and cast knows no bounds. Eat your haddock, take that adventure, and enjoy the ride!

Jeffrey Servetas - (Clown 1) Scout Servetas is immensely excited to be a part of this inaugural theatrical expedition! A Buxton resident with a software-focused day job, Jeff's prior local roles include Robbie Hart in "The Wedding Singer: The Musical" (Schoolhouse Arts Center, Standish), Freddie/Cesare in "Squeeze Me" (The Theater Project, Brunswick), Lord Savage/Spider in "Jekyll and Hyde: The Musical" (Lyric Music Theater, South Portland) and Jack/Jesus in "Reefer Madness" (The Portland Players, South Portland) Jeff gives deep thanks and appreciation to his girlfriend, Summer, for her love and support during the production process; The 39 Steps production team, for allowing him this opportunity to come and play; and you, for choosing to spend a few hours watching this silly thing we've made.

Justine Wiesinger - (Clown 2) could not be more pleased to be part of the inaugural Out There production! A life-long performer, she received her formal theater education at Johns Hopkins University and has performed in the DC area, Connecticut, and around Maine. Also a playwright, Justine's play Waters Rise was produced by the Women's Theater Festival in Durham, North Carolina in 2019 and was a finalist in the Maine Literary Awards. She most recently appeared as Ruth in Dominion at Footlights Theatre. Favorite roles include the Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd, Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing and Henrietta Iscariot/Mother Teresa/Sigmund Freud in The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. Justine is an Associate Professor of Japanese at Bates College, focusing her research on contemporary Japanese theater and performance. Her current book project, Performing Disaster, is under contract with the East Asia Series at Cornell University Press.
CREW
Sarah Kennedy - (Director / Projection Designer / Graphic Designer) is completely in awe that this has all come together. She wants to commend her troupe of actors for stepping up and taking on more roles than originally assigned when a coupleeeeeeee people dropped out. Bravo to all! Especially to Jeffrey Servetas who started as our stage left stage hand, and is now on stage playing MANY characters. Sarah has had a dream since college to start a theater company with her closest friends, and to see that dream come true with old and new friends alike, she’ll never understand how she got so lucky. Thank you to her family for their loving support, and to the theater community within Maine, thank you for the warm welcome!!!
Joanna Clarke - (Assistant Director / Costume Designer) apparently has no time to write her bio so I'm Marissa, the theater intern here to talk about her, I guess...Um...She co-founded OTTC, assistant directed, costume designed, and a bunch of other things for The 39 Steps. I don't know what she does, but she seems busy. She's made abundantly clear she's an actor in Portland, both onstage and on film. Some of her favorite credits include...wait, where are the notes?! Great. Um. She's been in a lot. I think she said she's been acting for 23 years. Wow, that's how old I am. Anyways! She WAS the pirate captain with a whip in that Peter Pan fan fiction play AND the alien lady with the crazy hair from that Tim Curry sex musical. I don't know Joanna well, but from what I do know, she really loves theater and this community and she's very honored to work alongside these wonderful people. Oh! This is the first time she's ever costume designed anything so... be nice to her. Her love language is words of affirmation. And she's an actor...so, very fragile...OH!! I FOUND THEM!! The notes say she'd like to thank her friends, family, and Dino squad for all the never ending support. She couldn't do it all, without you. And the last note says: most importantly, if you find the show or actors funny, laugh as loud as you want, it's a comedy! Have fun, and enjoy the show! Thanks for editing the program, Sarah, I'll see you at rehearsal...ALSO I bought more Jolly Ranchers for the cast. OKAY BYEEEEEEEE.
Dalton Kimball - (Stage Manager) is here.
Kait Gurney - (Prop Novice) When not rummaging for cardboard in dumpsters and hidden treasures in the antique and flea market shops along Route One, Kait spends most of her time hanging out with her cat, Charlotte (affectionately called Chuck). She has taken a sabbatical from the theater scene but is extremely humbled, honored, and terrified to be back and working with Out There Theater Company for their inaugural show! Thank you to her family, Sisterhood, and boyfriend for their love and support while having a mental breakdown over making hand puppets.
Nathan Speckman - (Sound Designer) (He/Him) is very excited to be working with Out There Theater on this inaugural show even if they did ask him a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitle late :) Special thank you to Ryan McGowan for, well, a lot, actually.
